Reporting to the Managing Director, the Executive Manager Risk and Compliance is responsible for;
  • All areas of Risk and Compliance within the NDB Group.
  • Establish and review Risk and Compliance Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensure the Risks and Compliance framework meets internal and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare annual compliance plans for approval by the Board Audit Risk Committee (BARC) and deliver within plan.
  • Provide guidance to executive management on all Risk and Compliance matters.
  • Formulate the NDB Group’s operational and credit risk management framework, policies and strategies.
  • Review the Risk and Compliance procedures and recommend robust processes to manage risk exposures.
  • Provide guidance to the Credit Risk Management Committee on the Bank's loan portfolio to ensure appropriate actions are taken on potential or existing risks and provisioning proposals.
  • Provide guidance on appropriate Credit Risk Management processes.
  • Guide the executive management on risk appetite for the banking industry and the market conditions.
  • Oversight of the Collections and Recoveries Department and ensure compliance within delegated authorities.
  • Manage the relationship and support the functions of Legal and Internal Audit Departments in their risk management activities.

Qualifications/Skills/Experience

  • University Degree, preferably in Banking, Finance or Accounting.
  • Advanced knowledge in Commercial Law, Risk Management and Regulatory Compliance.
  • Advanced Credit Risk analysis skills and conversant with Lending Processes.
  • Advanced knowledge on Corporate Banking skills and Risk Management concepts.
  • Advanced technical skills in Financial Analysis.
  • Well developed People Management Skills in a high performance work culture.
  • Minimum 10 years of commercial banking experience with 5 years in senior risks and compliance role preferably with a commercial bank.

The Management Accountant will assist and support the Executive Manager Accounting & Finance in ensuring timely and accurate monthly financial reports are provided to the Management, Board and other stakeholders of the financial reports for decision-making purposes. The Credit Manager assesses credit applications for loans from the Branches, and makes decisions to approve, decline or recommend to the next levels of authority. The role implements the Bank’s Delegated Lending Authority framework and lending policies across the Bank, and contributes to improving processes and procedures within the Bank’s Lending & Credit business unit.

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for formulating he Annual Quality Assurance Plan under the direction of the Head of Risk & Compliance and performance of operational test cases as a first line of defense to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls. Determine compliance with selected policies, procedures, and regulations. Make written recommendations to Senior Management to increase efficiency and/or effectiveness of the control systems of functions reviewed.

Identify the issues (Frontline & Back office) as part of the loan level testing, develop and recommend action plans through root cause analysis with line of business; track and monitor remediation efforts are completed according to defined due dates and report key details to Head of Risk & Compliance. Manage and monitor the Quality Management Systems of the Bank. Coordinate with the other Departments to ensure compliance and the documentations of the QMS in the bank.

This position works with all levels of management and employees within the Company.

Minimum Qualification

  • A first degree in Accounting, Business, Finance and ideally CPA accredited.
